Gutter Cleaning Services

Our Gutter Cleaning Process at Rob's Home Services

In the spring, we hand-clean and water-flush the gutters and downspouts. Afterward, the crew will take any debris with them. Fall gutter cleaning consists of high powered leaf blowers. If there is any leaf accumulation in the eaves of your roof, it will be blown away.

When gutters or downspouts become clogged, water can seep under the flashing, leading to rot in the eaves and fascia boards—and eventually causing leaks inside your home. Scheduling annual or bi annual cleanings can save homeowners significantly on repairs.

During rainstorms, large amounts of water flow off your roof. Without a properly functioning gutter system to direct that water away, your home becomes vulnerable to damage. Well-installed and regularly maintained gutters help prevent wood rot, overflow, and structural issues. In colder months, poor drainage can also contribute to ice dams—thick ridges of ice that form along the roof’s edge when melting snow refreezes. Ice dams can trap water behind them, causing leaks, roof damage, insulation problems, and interior water damage.

Gutters and downspouts should be kept clear of organic debris such as leaves, sticks, and pine needles. Even small objects like children’s toys, can cause clogs and lead to overflowing. In the winter, trapped water can freeze, adding extra weight that may pull gutters away from the home.

For optimal performance and protection, gutters should be cleaned at least twice a year, though homes in heavily wooded areas may require up to four cleanings annually.

Failing to clean gutters regularly can cause cracks in a home’s foundation, which can lead to mold and mildew in attics and flood basements. Most home owners insurance policies won’t help you with the costs associated with damage.

Our team will ensure your gutters are flowing properly and clear of any debris. Here at Rob’s Home Services, we provide outstanding gutter cleaning and repair services.  FAQ-

1) Do I need to be home for you to clean my gutters?
Answer- No, we will come to your home, clean the gutters, and leave an invoice in your mailbox

2) What method do you use to clean the gutters?
Answer- In the spring, we hand-clean and water flush the gutters. In the Fall, we use high powered blowers to clean the gutters and downspouts.

3) Why do you use blowers instead of water in the Fall?
Answer- Water cannot push the leaves that may be stuck along the side of the downspouts. Our blowers send 200 MPH of air through the downspout ensuring that nothing remains to cause a clog. We make sure airflow is coming out properly from the downspouts.

4) Where does all the debris taken out of the gutter go?

Answer- We always clear off decks, walkways and driveways.

In the spring, we will take in the debris with us. In the fall, we will mix the loose leaves into the rest of the leaves already in the yard. We recommend scheduling your fall cleaning before your final lawn clean up.

** For a small fee we can take the debris with us in the Fall

5)Do I need my gutters cleaned if I have gutter guards?

Yes, even with gutter guards, it’s still important to ensure debris is not collecting on top or working its way underneath. During your service, our crew will assess the condition of the guards and notify the office if a more thorough cleaning beneath the guards is recommended. We’ll then reach out to discuss next steps to help prevent any future issues.

6) Do you offer an automated service for cleanings?

Yes, we do! Our twice-a-year service plan ensures your gutters are cleaned in both the spring and fall for year-round protection. Best of all, there’s no long-term contract required—you can sign up or opt out at any time. In return, we just ask for permission to place a small yard sign the week before we come out. After the gutters are clean the crew will take the sign with them.
